Florida high school football player among two teens killed in crash

Xander Babcock was a former linebacker for the Leesburg High School football team who was tragically killed in a car crash over the weekend.

According to reports, Babcock was driving a 2013 Hyundai Elantra with four people in his vehicle when it hit a curb, hit several barricades and entered a ditch and overturned.

The driver and two rear passengers were ejected from the vehicle. Babcock, the driver, and a 17-year-old passenger from Leesburg, both died at the scene. The other two in the vehicle, a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, were both rushed to hospital for evaluation. The 15-year-old is in critical condition.

The agents are still in the process of informing the families.

Xander was number 54 on the Leesburg Yellow Jackets football team. Please keep the families in your prayers during this difficult time.
