HVP Magazine – Charity football match to raise funds for Band of Builders

The next step in Resideo’s continued support of building charity, Band of Builders, will see the manufacturer take on plumber Graham Plumbers’ Merchant in a one-on-one football match.

Taking place at Ascot United Football Club on January 28, the charity match will see both teams field players from their respective companies, to raise much-needed funds for Band of Builders.

With training already underway, the Resideo team is led by the company’s Chief Commercial Officer, Martin Wilson, while Technical Training Specialist, Scott Young, supports their training program to ensure that the team is ready for the match.

Daniel Kent, Area Sales Manager at Resideo, is the mastermind behind the latest charity activity. He said: “Football has always been brilliant at uniting people, so when it came to seeing how we could further support the incredible work that Band of Builders does for our industry, a charity football match seemed like the choice. obvious! Still, even though it’s a charity match, that doesn’t mean we take it any less seriously, and we’d love to see as many faces in the crowd cheering us on.

Dominic Yeandle of Graham Plumbers’ Merchant said: “Giving back is something we are always committed to doing, so when Resideo approached us about putting together a team to raise money for Band of Builders, we immediately agreed.

“Over the past few weeks our team have spent hours training to ensure the game is exciting – all in the name of a great cause!”

In addition to the charity football match, Resideo will also hold a silent auction on the night, as well as a raffle. Prizes have been donated by local businesses including Graham Plumbers’ Merchant and include an England shirt signed by Declan Rice and a round of 4-ball golf at a choice of venues, with a number of other fantastic prizes also at to earn.

Peter Cape of Band of Builders – a registered charity which carries out practical projects to help members of the construction industry in the UK who are struggling with illness or injury – added: “Such support is really important to the work we do as a charity. For those working in the construction industry, being able to access the support they need is crucial and our continued collaboration with Resideo will go a long way to ensuring this work continues.

Tickets for the match are priced at £5 for 18+, £1 for 13-18 and free entry for 12 and under and are only available on day gates. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., kick-off at 8 p.m. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to Band of Builders.
