Southern Breakers Football Club results for the weekend of May 21-22 | The temperature

It was the Southern Breakers in football action this weekend and there were some great wins.

The Breakers U15 came away with a fantastic 5-2 win over Marion Cove in sunny Breaker Park on Sunday.

For the first time in weeks, Coach O’Donnell had nearly a full squad and the luxury of substitutes.

The girls were on the ball from the whistle and a fiery Amber Kim sent an early shot just over the crossbar.

It didn’t take long for super forward Kayte O’Donnell to score the opening goal; a superb free-kick shot from the 18-yard line.

His partner up front, Nila Mohring, secured her top spot soon after and it looked dangerous for Cove.

Marion’s forwards were quick, however, and jumped over the Breakers defense to get their first.

Another quick run from the visitors with no chance for keeper Ella Bryant, saw them get another one soon after.

Full credit to the Breakers girls though, they didn’t back down and Bryant stopped their third chance minutes later.

Sophia Moore, Alanna Anderson and Tayla Perry did a great job in midfield, creating chances for forwards.

At the back, Lokke Rennerts, Estelle Dybala and Hannah Rowlands frustrated Marion’s attack.

After halftime, the girls looked confident.

A fantastic touch from Amber Kim in the attacking half found Mohring, who blasted the ball over the defense to O’Donnell who scored his second and put the girls ahead at 3-2.

Abby Ellis was unlucky not to score right after, from a corner.

It was Kim who scored the fourth goal with a fantastic effort and showing his versatility and efficiency in all areas of the pitch.

Zoe Warren was making good use of her head to play effectively.

The girls had several penalty shootouts with Dybala, Ellis and Mohring all unlucky.

O’Donnell got the team’s fifth and final goal of the game on a great run and shot.

The girls are now fourth on the ladder with six wins in eight games and a few makeup matches in hand.

Next week, they travel north to take on Elizabeth Grove.

Southern Breakers U14 v Campbelltown City White JSL, Sunday May 22.

The Southern Breakers U14 had an impressive game against Campbelltown City White JSL on Sunday, performing well with a change of formation, playing 3 defenders, 2 wingers, 2 midfield rows and a striker.

The Southern Breakers had a few early chances with some great passes and corner balls.

Campbelltown were awarded a free kick as the Southern Breakers keeper handled the ball from a drop kick and was shown a yellow card. Campbelltown kept the ball in Breaker’s half and with tight play and a late tackle in the box they scored from the penalty spot.

In the dying minutes of the first half, pressure from the Southern Breakers attack allowed Aden Goodman to intercept a weak defensive pass from their goalkeeper, and with a few quick passes, Eddy Yeoward turned and fired from 8 yards, the ball deflected off a defender and fell nicely on a well-placed Lucas Bouzoudis who blew home the equaliser.

The opposition came out in a fight and had several chances in the first 5 minutes. The Breakers fought back and a foul from Campbelltown midfielder resulted in a free kick from 30 yards out. Adam Daniel stepped forward and gently kicked the ball. He looped over the defensive wall and took the keeper by surprise with his power and entered just under the bar.

Less than 3 minutes from the Breakers goal, Campbelltown came back and the defense let through to equalize. From the restart, Campbelltown quickly took possession of the ball and, with a high crossing ball, the Campbelltown striker did well to head the ball forward, allowing him to run over it and flick it past the keeper. Campbelltown were on offense again but were cut off by Archie Buchmann who stuck to his man like glue and sent the ball on.

The last 20 minutes of the game saw solid defensive work and goalkeeping, as well as fresh scoring opportunities. Notably, Eddy executed an incredible bicycle shot that hit the bar and, within minutes, took another shot that went just wide.

The two teams played each other but the final score remained at 2-3.

The Southern Breakers U14 should be proud of their moral victory and hold their heads high. They stood up to a formidable opponent and the team proved itself.

The breakers fight until the final whistle

The Under-10s showed their understanding of football today, working well as a team and understanding their positions better. They faced Birkalla Yellow at Breakers Park, with both teams starting strong early in the game. Breakers, Luke Modra scored the opening goal in the opening minutes with Birkalla responding shortly after leveling the score 1-1.

Luke Modra pushed the ball forward which, combined with the speed, allowed Hunter Hogan to weave his way between the players and have several goal attempts with his forward partner, Braxton Engleson scoring his first ever goal. the season. Birkala responded with 2 more goals, followed by Luke Modra adding another to the Breakers tally.

The score was 3-3 at the half-time whistle.

The defense played confidently with Indigo Grocke winning numerous challenges and turning the game around in favor of the Southern Breakers and Luke Greasley constantly putting the opposition under pressure.

With high levels of energy and determination applied in the first half, it was feared the Breakers would lose momentum for the rest of the game. Although they are a young team, they don’t believe in giving up and once again kept fighting until the end.

The levels of excitement continued into the second half with goalkeeper Jaxson making some solid saves but Birkalla managed to score 2 more goals. The Southern Breakers’ final goal was scored by Luke Modra, making the final score 4-5.
