Turkish footballer Sezer Öztürk murdered one man and injured 4 others after an argument in traffic.

According to witnesses and unverified video footage, the footballer opened fire on a group of people near the northern district of Istanbul, Åžile.

Sports broadcaster NTV Spor cited witnesses who claimed that ztürk had fought in an apparent case of road rage.

Former Fenerbahce and Beşiktaş player Sezer Öztürk claimed he opened fire from his car over the problem of giving way in traffic.

According to the news from İHA; Sezer Öztürk and his friend were on the road in Paşaköy on the Şile highway on September 19.

Sezer Öztürk and his friend asked Halil İbrahim S. for a way to cross the path with their car.

As Halil İbrahim S. wanted to give in, an argument broke out between the two for some unknown reason.

The discussion turned into a brawl with the involvement of Sezer Öztürk’s friend and Halil İbrahim S’s family.

Sezer Öztürk started shooting from his luxury car, prompting Halil İbrahim S. to escape the bullets, which were recorded by security cameras.

During the fight, Halil İbrahim S. lost his life and 4 other people were injured. Treatment of injured citizens continues at the hospital.

Although there is no official police statement yet, according to the allegations; Öztürk was taken into police custody for murder, then taken to the prosecutor on duty and arrested.

According to reports, an investigation has been opened against the former footballer for “intentional homicide” and he is currently wanted everywhere.

The local resident who saw the incident said:

“The deceased friend started to flee from here, chasing them. The murderer met at the common point where he came from with the vehicle. When the deceased started to flee, we came out to the noise, ‘

“The gun started to crackle, killing the man. It all happened at the same time, we couldn’t understand what was going on, ‘

“A planned project killed the man in front of our eyes. The neighborhood got up, 2 hands opened fire on the population. He started to run away in his vehicle with foreign license plates.

Öztürk played for German clubs like Bayer Leverkusen and FC Nurnberg, before playing for Turkish clubs like Maniaspor, Fenerbahçe, Besiktas and Basaksehir.

The 35-year-old retired to Besiktas in 2015 after winning 2 Turkish Cups with Fenerbahçe in 2011/12 and 2012/13.

Öztürk finished second in the European Championship with the Turkish U-19 national team. In 2010, he was called up to the Turkish national team under new coach Guus Hiddink, for preparation in the United States, but did not win any selection.

Prior to 1996, Öztürk played for Türkgücü Velbert, SSVg Velbert, TVD Velbert and Rot-Weiss Essen. From 1996 to 2005 he made seven league appearances for Bayer 04 Leverkusen, but only as a substitute. During the 2005-06 season, Öztürk was loaned to Belgian Cup winners Germinal Beerschot for a year in order to put together match practices. In January 2006 Öztürk joined 1. FC Nürnberg.

In 2006, Öztürk joined the Turkish team of Süper Lig Vestel Manisaspor. For the second half of the 2009-10 season, he moved for $ 1.6 million to Eskişehirspor and signed a contract until May 2012.

During the 2011 summer transfer window, Öztürk joined defending champion Fenerbahçe on a four-year contract for 3.75 million euros.

Öztürk joined Beşiktaş in the 2013 summer transfer window with a transfer fee of 1.5 million euros, but never made his professional debut there. During the 2014-15 season, he was loaned to Istanbul Başakşehir. He was taken off the squad and asked to find a club in 2015 and was reportedly spotted doing amateur boxing training and gained weight.
