Position to be filled: Liaison Officer for People with Disabilities (DLO)
Remuneration + benefits: â¢ Â£ Competitive, depending on experience and qualifications

Type of Contract : â¢ Permanent
â¢ Part-time: 20 hours per week – flexible. However, you need to be prepared to work on any home game day.

An opportunity arose for a liaison officer for people with disabilities. This role is the first point of contact for all Burnley FC supporters and match day visitors, while helping the Fan Experience Manager to develop and deliver the match day experience.
The successful candidate will be a calm and resilient communicator, understanding disability legislation and providing advice on best practice in accessible stadium experience and service.
Reporting to the Fan Experience Manager, the DLO will:
- Have a good understanding of disability legislation and internal Club policies.
- Provide advice on handling tickets for supporters with disabilities, including personal assistant tickets.
- Support the ticket office to resolve all inquiries associated with disabled Club supporters by ensuring their access requirements are met, handling complaints and any escalation.
- Be the main point of contact for meeting supporters with disabilities on home match days.
- Manage post-game reports, comments and actions supporting the continuous improvement of each season’s access to club facilities and services.
- Ensure that the stadium and the premises of the Club are accessible on match days and on days without a match.
- Support disability awareness training by ensuring that all staff are aware of their responsibilities to supporters with disabilities and understand the wide range of different access requirements, and by fostering confidence in communication with diverse supporters.
- Liaise with other clubs regarding match day arrangements for disabled supporters.
- Provide feedback on how we can continually improve our match day experience for supporters with disabilities and âadvocateâ for the diverse needs of people with disabilities.
- To understand and implement the club’s protection policy, procedures and best practice guidelines in your role.
- Be committed to equality and diversity in the workplace and be willing to take all relevant training on equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Promote the Burnley Football Club brand and ethics in a professional, strong and positive manner.
- Work alongside other team members to provide support in other areas of the organization as needed to promote best practices.
An ideal candidate will have;
- Knowledge of disability legislation (e.g. Equality Act 2010 and UK Accessible Stadia)
- Knowledge of accessibility requirements and barriers.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proven skills in conflict resolution.
- Experience working with supporters and / or supporters with disabilities.
- Experience in using a CRM system.
